In collaboration with Cabarrus Public Health Interest 501c3 (CPHI) and the Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA), a call to action has been issued to place an equity lens on various strategies to promote the highest level of individual and community health through collaborative action. Adjusting to the new norms of the world, as a result of the global pandemic, it is obvious the need to address existing inequities is even more critical.
The CHAsm Summit is intended to highlight the importance of incorporating equity based practices into public, private and non-profit sector work to address disparities faced by communities, both physically and systemically. By hosting a diverse sector of speakers, the conference will elevate thought-provoking topics centered on best practices for promoting equity that can be integrated into any field. Attendees will be challenged to assess their own agency practices in hopes that an exchange of ideas will promote change and improved community health outcomes.

CHAsm Summit Community Equity Fund
Created in 2006, the mission of Cabarrus Public Health Interest (CPHI), a nonprofit 501c3, is to invest in the improvement of individual and community health in Cabarrus County through awareness and fundraising opportunities. In collaboration with the Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA), CPHI, is answering the call to action to place an equity lens on strategies that promote the highest level of individual and community health through collaborative action. CPHI along with CHA acknowledges equity as a process, philosophy, and outcome defined by the enactment of just policies and fair resource allocation. CPHI and CHA understand that upholding these measures help to ensure that all county residents have the opportunity to achieve optimal health regardless of any social or economic barriers.
On March 24, 2023, CPHI and CHA will officially launch the CHAsm Summit to highlight the importance of incorporating equity-based practices into public, private and non-profit sector work to address systemic disparities faced by communities. By hosting diverse panel discussions, interactive breakout workshops and a keynote address, the conference will elevate thought-provoking topics centered on best practices for promoting equity that can be integrated into any field. Attendees will be challenged to assess their own agency practices in hopes that an exchange of ideas will promote change and improved community health outcomes.
Revenue generated through this annual conference will not only serve traditional public health programs and initiatives, but also enable CPHI to invest in grassroots community initiatives whose objectives align with our organizational equity action plan. As CPHI and CHA seek to invest in innovative strategies that advance equity, your support will play a pivotal role in enabling our community to experience significant equitable growth.
