This program is being offered in cooperation with UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing.
This workshop will introduce APRNs and PAs to the basics necessary to safely and effectively treat musculoskeletal conditions using joint and soft tissue injections. We will cover appropriate indications for arthritis, bursitis and tendinopathies associated with overuse injuries with an emphasis on common conditions in primary care. Using the latest available joint models, participants will practice their new skills with the assistance of experienced practitioners.
Participants will have an online lecture to watch and online articles to read prior to coming to class. The participants will spend most of the class time for hands on practice.
Learning Outcome:
Participant will be able to enhance knowledge of basics information to safely and effectively treat musculoskeletal conditions using joint and soft tissue injections.

Associate Professor University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Schools of Nursing and Medicine
Dr. Bush is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Schools of Nursing and Medicine. He earned an undergraduate degree in nursing from The University of Kentucky, a Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a Doctoral degree from East Carolina University College of Nursing. His clinical experience ranges from critical care to primary care and he maintains a musculoskeletal practice in the Department of Orthopedics at the UNC School of Medicine where he serves as program director of the nation’s only Orthopedic NP fellowship. He is a former North Carolina AANP State Representative and was inducted as an AANP Fellow in 2011.
