In order to receive credit, participants are required to attend both days of the workshop.
The purpose of this two-day training course for Speech Language Pathologists in use of fiberoptic nasoendoscopy to assess oropharyngeal dysphagia using a standard FEES® assessment protocol and analysis/interpretative procedures.

Objectives
- Apply safe and effective manual skills when using the fiberoptic endoscopic to assess the oropharynx, hyphopharynx and larynx before, during and after a swallowing event;
- Describe and use specific protocols and prescribed procedures to assess oropharyngeal-swallowing events endoscopically;
- Describe and evaluate the anatomy and physiology of the naval cavity, pharynx and larynx during normal and abnormal swallow events, as viewed endoscopically;
- Identify and use standard and prescribed infection control procedures and to identify risks and contraindications for nasoendoscopy assessment of swallowing;
- Analyze and evaluate clinical findings resulting from a video-recorded endoscopic swallow study and identify and prescribe appropriate remediative interventions based upon the endoscopic study results.
