Objectives

• Compare and contrast the evidence that supports protein recommendations for adult hospitalized patients.
• Identify best practices for transitioning patients from hospital to home on nutrition support
• Discuss pros and cons of controversial issues of providing nutrition support to critically ill adult patients
• Discuss treatment options for patients with iron deficiency anemia requiring nutrition support
• Describe methods to manage challenges frequently encountered in caring for patients receiving nutrition support therapy.
