This course is an continuation of S2R: Strengthening for Stroke Recovery: Foundational Concepts provides an opportunity to address clinical reasoning processes to determine assessment, evaluation, and treatment of stroke impairments affiliated with strength or force generation.
(It is NOT a requirement to have attended S2R: Strengthening for Stroke Recovery: Foundational Concepts)
Treatment interventions are supported by evidence in practice, focusing on the use of resistance bands. Patient/client compliance and intervention fidelity are discussed as determinants of stroke recovery. Clinical case studies address the upper extremity, trunk and lower extremity. Therapy practitioners demonstrate clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills to choose measurement tools, evaluate assessment outcomes, and devise treatment interventions after observing videos.
