What does it mean to be born?
What does it mean to be mindful to life’s breath?
What is the significance of death?
The three questions above are central to human life. Philosophers and spiritual leaders throughout time have reflected upon them. Wise ones across all ages and cultures have offered up their own insights into answering these perennial queries. And, of course, all of us ~ all who know birth, breath, and death ~ wrestle at times with what it all means.
What does it mean to be born, breathe through life’s joys/challenges, and die?
The Birth, Breath, and Death workshop is designed to create a safe space for heartfelt inquiry into these questions. People of all philosophies and faith traditions are warmly welcomed to gather together to listen, learn, and ~ most importantly ~ personally reflect upon the questions above. For being human involves experiencing the wonder of birth, the flow of being in union with the breath of life, and the grief of death. Each individual moves through these passageways and thresholds. The Birth, Breath, and Death workshop offers up a sacred space for their heartfelt exploration.
Birth, Breath, and Death is a 3-hour workshop based upon the work/writing of Amy Wright Glenn, founder of the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death. The three questions explored in these workshops are at the heart of the key themes present in Amy’s two books: Birth, Breath, and Death, published by CreateSpace in 2013 and Holding Space: On Loving, Dying, and Letting Go, published by Parallax Press in 2017.
