Description

Since 2000, there has been a 10-fold increase in youth baseball injuries. Managing the overhead throwing athlete is challenging. Athletes need to resume throwing to return to their sport, however throwing is typically a primary pain generator. While healthcare professionals usually prescribe rest for overhead injuries, this usually does not solve the underlying problem. Designing a rehabilitation program based on an athlete’s throwing motion significantly improves their outcomes. As a result of attending this course, participants will be able to analyze the baseball throwing motion and identify common throwing faults in order to appropriately prescribe drills and exercises. Mastering these valuable skills will enable health care professionals to optimally evaluate and treat the overhead throwing athlete.
