Description

Registration for this course will close on Thursday, March 7th at noon to allow time to prepare registration roster sheets, and other details. We will re-open registration on Friday at 7am.

The management of early onset colorectal cancer can comparatively be demanding because of the frequent advanced stage at diagnosis, the requirement for coordinated multimodality treatment, and the need to treat the whole patient for whom multiple life domains are significantly impacted by the cancer diagnosis.

This symposium addresses the incidence and mortality rate of colorectal cancer among young adults. According to the National Cancer Institute, nearly 18,000 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer under the age of 50. Most experts are unsure of the rationale that is causing such a rise in colorectal cancer in younger adults.

We will discuss risk factors, early detection screenings, genetic disorders, and other considerations when managing care for early onset colorectal cancer patients.
