Description

This lunch and learn series will address the evaluation and evidence-based intervention guidelines for vestibular, visual, cognitive, and communication impairments patients may experience after a stroke. This series will also review utilization of functional electrical stimulation, understanding prognostic indicators, and how to implement evidence-based treatment interventions while learning de-implementing strategies that will help therapists become more confident in managing hemiplegia post-stroke.

The fee for this course covers all topics - Attend ANY or Attend ALL!
Each Presentation will be from 12:00pm - 1:00pm on the scheduled day and qualifies for 1 Contact Hour or 0.1 CEUs. (Up to 4 Hours total!)

    Objectives

    • Discuss patient assessment and intervention strategies for visual and vestibular impairments after a stroke.
    • Describe how to implement high intensity gait training as standard of care.
    • Describe hemiplegia post-stroke management.
    • Report increased confidence in the treatment of patients post-stroke.
    • Verbalize the difference between aphasia and apraxia and how to intervene post-stroke.
    • Identify stereotypes that impede patient care.
