This course provides a didactic and experiential foundation for facilitating Practice Self-Regulation™. Content includes a comprehensive overview and practice of the intervention highlighting a clearly defined process for implementation and all research required for facilitators providing fidelity to the model. Successful completion requires reviewing material, attendance, and participation in all course activity.

Water and snacks will be provided (lunch on your own).

Must attend the entire training to receive credit.
Participants will also receive individual consultation after the training is completed for questions, tool review, and to discuss how to integrate the model into their processes.

Objectives

  • Understand key elements about the neuroscience of trauma and sexual decision making
  • Intervene in ways that best meet the developmental capacity of each youth
  • Engage youth and optimize potential for change
  • Integrate the model into ongoing services for youth aged 12 and above
  • Facilitate all sessions with fidelity to the model
  • Collaborate with pertinent community resources to promote sexual health and well-being for all youth
