Description

This training is brought to you in partnership between South Piedmont AHEC and North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services.

Understanding mental status assessment is crucial for healthcare workers in skilled nursing facilities. Accurate assessments help identify cognitive impairments, mood disorders, and other mental health issues, significantly impacting residents' quality of life. Regular evaluations allow for early detection, timely interventions, and personalized care plans.

This knowledge ensures residents receive appropriate support for their mental and emotional well-being, promoting a holistic approach to care. Additionally, it enhances communication with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals, fostering a collaborative environment.
