This training is brought to you in partnership between South Piedmont AHEC and North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services.

Dementia affects memory, thinking, and behavior, requiring specialized care to ensure residents' safety and well-being. Mastering dementia care techniques allows healthcare workers to provide compassionate and effective support, addressing everyone’s unique needs.

Online Learning: Caring for Individuals with Dementia
Welcome to our training module on caring for individuals with dementia. This course includes engaging recorded presentations and interactive activities. Completion requires passing a post-test.

This training module covers the progressive nature of neurocognitive disorders, various dementia-related behaviors, and effective approaches to managing challenging behaviors. It also includes essential communication skills for positive engagement, reality orientation, and validation therapy.
