The South Piedmont AHEC Regional Workforce Collaborative is a strategic initiative led by the Health Talent Alliance (HTA), in partnership with the NC Center on the Workforce for Health, the NC Chamber Foundation, and Regional AHEC Centers.
The goal of the Collaborative is to address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in the South Piedmont Region by aligning regional resources and expertise to strengthen the health workforce pipeline.
Employers, educators, and key stakeholders across the region are working together to develop solutions and share resources that support a well-trained, future-ready workforce. This collaborative effort transforms a statewide workforce crisis into actionable strategies tailored to the needs of our eight-county region: Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Stanly, and Union.
We invite partners who are committed to building a resilient healthcare workforce to join us in this important work.
Originally, our October meeting was intended to focus on prioritizing the barriers identified in the September kick-off meeting. However, during the planning process, it became clear that we first needed to establish a shared understanding and consistent terminology. This foundational step ensures that our prioritization efforts are aligned, purposeful, and grounded in a common framework that supports our overall goals. A detailed agenda will be sent prior to the meeting.
Meeting Objectives:
Objective 1: Strengthen alignment between employers and educators on workforce priorities by reviewing the problem statement for key healthcare roles (RN, LPN, CNA), discussing insights from the Mentimeter activity, and collaboratively establishing a shared language to assess and prioritize identified barriers.
Objective 2: Establish clear next steps and data requirements to support actionable strategies for addressing workforce priorities, ensuring all participants leave with a shared understanding of priorities and responsibilities.
Monthly Meetings: 4th Thursday of each month | 2:00 – 3:30 PM
Open to employers, educators, and workforce champions.
Ready to Shape the Future of Healthcare Talent? Join us in this important work.
