The South Piedmont AHEC Regional Workforce Collaborative is a strategic initiative led by the Health Talent Alliance (HTA), in partnership with the NC Center on the Workforce for Health, the NC Chamber Foundation, and Regional AHEC Centers.
The goal of the Collaborative is to address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in the South Piedmont Region by aligning regional resources and expertise to strengthen the health workforce pipeline.
Employers, educators, and key stakeholders across the region are working together to develop solutions and share resources that support a well-trained, future-ready workforce. This collaborative effort transforms a statewide workforce crisis into actionable strategies tailored to the needs of our eight-county region: Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Stanly, and Union.
We invite partners who are committed to building a resilient healthcare workforce to join us in this important work.
The January meeting will focus on our previous work defining regional retention success and analyzing turnover trends by developing a prioritized action plan. This meeting will identify high-impact strategies to strengthen retention and support students and employees, using clear criteria—specificity, leverage, values, and reach—to align employers, educators, and key partners around shared goals.
Objective 1: Develop an Action Plan to include a prioritized list of 3–5 collaborative strategies to strengthen retention and support students/employees.
Objective 2: Prioritization Criteria: Rank strategies using specificity, leverage, values, and reach to ensure high-impact, scalable solutions.
Open to employers, educators, and workforce champions.
Ready to Shape the Future of Healthcare Talent? Join us in this important work.
