Explore current advances and challenges in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine through a collaborative educational event presented by North Carolina’s premier academic pathology departments. Designed for pathologists, pathologists’ assistants, trainees, and medical laboratory professionals across practice settings, this program addresses the growing complexity and rapid evolution of the field.

Through expert-led lectures, interactive sessions, and panel discussions, participants will engage with curated, practice-relevant content. Concurrent tracks allow learners to select sessions aligned with their roles and interests while exploring emerging diagnostic, technological, regulatory, and workforce trends in pathology and laboratory medicine.

Call for Abstracts
We will be accepting abstracts for a planned poster session for Imagine 2026.

Submissions deadline is Thursday, September 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM / midnight EST.
Authors will be notified of acceptance and details of poster format by September 17, 2026

• Apply recent diagnostic or practice-changing advances in an anatomic or clinical pathology subspecialty to relevant clinical scenarios.
• Discuss regulatory or policy changes impacting laboratory practice and select appropriate strategies to maintain compliance.
• Explain how digital pathology, artificial intelligence, precision medicine, informatics, and laboratory data integration can be used to improve quality, efficiency, and value in healthcare delivery.
• Evaluate workforce development strategies and recommend one approach to increase awareness or retention in medical laboratory professions.
