Description
What makes a team feel safe enough to speak up, ask questions, and learn from mistakes? In this interactive session, we’ll explore the foundations of psychological safety and how it connects to a strong safety culture. Through real-world examples and small group discussions, participants will learn simple, practical ways to create environments where people feel heard, respected, and empowered to contribute, especially when it matters most.
Objectives
- Define psychological safety and safety culture and explain how each influences communication, learning, and overall team performance.
- Recognize common behaviors and team dynamics that either encourage or silence speaking up in everyday work settings.
- Identify the impact of responses to mistakes, questions, and concerns on trust, engagement, and safety outcomes.
- Apply simple, practical strategies to foster open dialogue and respectful communication within their teams.
- Demonstrate ways to respond constructively when concerns or errors are raised, supporting learning rather than blame.
