Target Audience

This course is intended for team members, supervisors, and leaders across all roles in healthcare who are interested in improving everyday work processes. It is ideal for individuals with a basic understanding of quality improvement who are ready to deepen their skills and apply LEAN tools in a practical, real-world context.

Description

Know the basics of quality improvement but struggle to apply them in real work? Practical Quality Improvement for Everyday Work helps you turn LEAN concepts into action—right where inefficiencies, unclear processes, and recurring problems show up every day.
This interactive two?part course focuses on hands?on use of practical LEAN tools, including process mapping, root cause analysis, and waste identification. You’ll apply these tools to a real workplace challenge, learn how to choose the right method for the problem at hand, and begin developing a clear, small?scale improvement project you can actually carry forward.
Between sessions, you’ll put learning into practice, then return to share your project approach and gain insight through guided discussion and peer feedback. If you’re ready to move beyond theory and build confidence in improving everyday work in a structured, sustainable way, this course delivers practical skills you can use immediately. Come with a project idea—and leave with a plan.

Objectives

  • Identify opportunities for improvement within everyday work processes using a LEAN mindset
  • Select and apply appropriate quality improvement tools—such as process mapping, root cause analysis, and waste identification—based on the problem being addressed
  • Analyze inefficiencies and recurring issues to determine underlying root causes rather than symptoms
  • Develop a clear, actionable plan for a small-scale improvement project tied directly to their own work environment
  • Strengthen confidence in using quality improvement tools through hands-on practice, peer learning, and facilitated feedback
