This program is being offered in cooperation with UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing

In this course, you will learn how to promote understanding common injury types, risk factors, and strategies to reduce injury incidence and severity in the school age population. Review the types of injuries most frequently encountered in school-aged children, such as
fractures, burns and head injuries.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be in writing (email or mail).
- Registrants cancelling between two weeks and five full business days prior to the first day of the event are "refunded at 70% of the registration fee subject to a minimum $25 cancellation fee."
- No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than five full business days prior to the event.
- No refunds or credit will be given for no-shows.
- No vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund.
- Transfers/substitute(s) welcome (notify in advance of the program).

Objectives

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of concussions and other traumatic brain injuries.
  • Understanding how to assess, manage and triage common musculoskeletal injuries like fractures and dislocations.
  • Understand the causes and prevention of burns, as well as first aid measures for common skin injuries.
  • Understand how to triage, immediate care essentials and treatments for eye related injuries.
