Tobacco-Free Living: The Important Role of Peer Support Specialists
January 10 | 11 AM – 12:30 PM
The Important Role of Peer Support Specialists is a 90-minute training designed to demonstrate the correlation between tobacco use and SUD/MH, as well as the important role of peer support services in advancing tobacco cessation. The relationship trauma, arrested development, and SPMI diagnoses play in precipitating and sustaining tobacco use is explored. Additional emphasis is placed on methods CPSS’s can share with peers that encourage tobacco cessation—and subsequently, neuroplasticity—such as The 5 A’s and Ask, Advise, Refer.
