Trauma is more than a moment—it’s an experience that can leave lasting imprints on the body and brain. This session offers an overview of trauma, including the wide range of traumatic experiences that individuals may face, from acute incidents to chronic adversity. Participants will explore how trauma reshapes the nervous system, disrupts brain-body communication, and manifests in physical and psychological symptoms.
We’ll dive into the three essential phases of trauma treatment and examine a variety of therapeutic approaches, comparing top-down (cognitive-based) and bottom-up (body-based) methods. By identifying the signs and symptoms that indicate the impact of trauma, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to recognize and respond to trauma.
